Guess what? No, I’m not going to stop writing reviews for exploitation films. Even better. Scooby-Doo is pushing ahead for a third film. How excited is everyone? I know I’m not. Apparently “Batman” has inspired reboots in many films and the ‘classic’ Scooby-Doo films are no different. We’re going all the way back, before the last two flicks to a time when they just got together and had to solve their first crime. Wow!
Titled “Scooby-Doo: In the Beginning” — a prequel set before the 2002 and 2004 “Scooby-Doo” theatricals — the film will debut on Cartoon Network in fall 2009 when it also will be released on DVD. It finds the Mystery gang uniting for the first time to solve the haunting of their high school.
I, for one, will be giving this a pass. That is, unless somehow I end up with a screener. If that happens, God help you all.
