Well it looks as though Darren Aronofsky, the genius behind Requiem for a Dream and Pi has officially signed on with MGM to direct some kinda new RoboCop movie. Personally, I think Aronofsky must be one of the greatest talents of our time, even if eye-candy laden, content-devoid The Fountain was not exactly a watershed moment in contemporary cinema (I’d like to put the blame Hugh Jackman for that, but it’s actually not all his fault this time). I can’t see him turning to some action-y pop-culture-y film like this that is so far from anything he’s done (or anything I’d particularly want to see anyway).
