Isaac Hayes mourned

Musician and longtime South Park contributor, Isaac Hayes was found dead in his apartment over the weekend. Relatives believe he succumbed to a long ongoing illness and authorities have ruled out foul play. Hayes was 65 years-old.

Best known for his single “Soul Man” and for his soundtrack to the 70’s hit show “Shaft,” Hayes carved out a deep respect for himself in the music business before working on the show that younger generations knew him for as the character Chef on South Park. After a rift between himself and the South Park crew over religious differences, he was furiously written off the show. It probably was just as well, because his true fans will always remember him fondly for his depth of voice and the richness of his art.

You will be missed Isaac.
