Censorship Capital of the world?

China has stepped up to the plate to back up it’s big, bad, statement of banning Sharon Stone a few weeks (months?) back when she pissed off a whole bunch of people at the Shanghai International Film Festival. That was a good time. But, she apologized for her statements and apparently that’s not good enough.

China is tightening the screws on political expression, saying it will ban foreign artists and entertainers who have ever engaged in activities deemed to “threaten national sovereignty.”

Could that be any more random? I don’t even know what that means. It seems that another HUGE name is on that black list…Steven Spielberg. Yup, that’s right. Just because you’ve made some of the biggest films, in history, does not mean you cannot be banished. Sorry dude. This actually infuriates me a bit more than it should, since it won’t effect me, but still…really?
