Oliver Stone’s George W. Bush biopic film W really puzzles me. I think he’s done some good work in the past and he certainly has quite a following but I don’t know if he can really make a wide-appeal film about one of the most hated presidents in U.S. history. Who is the target audience for the film exactly? Bush supporters will most definitely not be watching it, as they know Stone’s films tend to have a liberal slanting to them 100% of the time and he’s just going to be “trashing on the good ol’ boy”. But will detractors really want to watch this? That’s the question. Odds are they’ve had all they can stomach by now and watching a film about his life, even if it’ll more likely than not be poking fun at him… well, I’m sure its not something they’re exactly looking forward to.
Regardless, the trailer has managed to make its way online before its initially planned debut on Access Hollywood tomorrow night. Enjoy it while the Lionsgate offices are still closed for the weekend.
