Singer to produce ANOTHER comic book adaption

Created on July 24th, 2008 by Mikey B

Well, there’s no sense in not doing it. Bryan Singer has made a name for himself, and mostly in the comic book genre for mainstream film watchers. So, it seems that he’ll be working on a new comic book film based on the comic ‘Capeshooters’ which actually sounds kinda cool. I think Singer is a great director with an excellent eye for visuals, but I have yet to be blown away by the stories he’s been give to work with (sorry fans of X-Men 1 and 2, but I wasn’t thrilled with either). But, just the premise of ‘Capeshooters’ sounds like a good time:

In “Capeshooters,” two slackers become paparazzi who specialize in shooting covert videos of superheroes find themselves on the run after they stumble onto evidence that a revered superhero is actually a villain.

A nice little play on the super-hero genre if I’ve ever read one. I’m stoked for this, and the funny thing was, I had, and still have, no interest in seeing Hancock. Warner Bros. is the big studio backing this. So, after the success of TDK let’s hope they decide that they don’t have to tone it down to make it a popular movie.
