As many of you know, online sites have been arguing over the release of sh*tty remakes since the release of The Ring (which is one of the best remakes ever, so kiss my ass). What we all forgot to argue against was the continuation of series’ that should have died with the first film. One such franchise is the Scream series. I blame this film, and it’s subsequent sequels for the downfall of modern horror (to each their own-before you all come down on me like a group of leprechauns on a pot of gold). Well, my heart just broke a little more, moments ago:
“This exclusive agreement with The Weinstein Company will deliver our subscribers an enormous and diverse slate of films at a price to SHOWTIME that is consistent with today’s marketplace,” said Blank. “Bob’s and Harvey’s films are known for quality and promotability, making them a perfect fit with the acclaimed and award-winning original series that have generated strong momentum and subscriber growth for SHOWTIME. We will continue to pursue such value-enhancing deals in the future.”
That’s right…it’s part of a deal between Showtime and the Weinsteins. Now, you’d think by now someone would have realized that working with the Weinsteins is like trying to have sex with your buck-toothed sister. It’s really not worth it. I realize moneywise it’s a good thing, as they tend to pull in some green stuff, but, come on, do we really need another sequel? What the hell could it possibly be about? I am not looking forward to this…at all. I’m so mad I’m actually going to do some work…
